In 1967, Verold and Venus Crichton began manufacturing and selling plantain chips in their home country of St.Vincent and the Grenadines. When they moved to Canada in 1980 they took the risk of introducing this product, native to the Caribbean and South America, to the Canadian market and to their delight the product was a hit!
Vegetron Incorporated was founded and Golden Banana Plantain Chips were launched. The success of this initial small venture has resulted in Golden Banana Plantain Chips being sold throughout Canada and parts of the United States.
